at the lighthouse site is here captured after completing the task - in a beautiful sunset in front of the 4 square
vertical array for 40m. Preparing for the LH 2008 eventThe Stavanger club will meet well prepared when joining this year's Lighthouse event. Throughout the summer a group of dedicated club members have worked on antenna arrangements which will make sure our LA1S/lh signal is being picked up. Most effort went into the preparation of ground radials for 5 vertical antennas: more than 3 km of wire was cut into 312 radials, individually soldered to copper frames to be placed at the base of the verticals. Four of these will be operated as phased 40m verticals with strong directional effect. Add to that a few hundred metres of RG-213 and 200 metres of 8 lead rotator control cable which have been made ready for use at the lighthouse. The antenna work was mainly done at the QTH of LA7QIA, Peter, who also will bring along a good share of his own antenna gear to the lighthouse setup.
